Sources read and named

Every print on the four rooms rests on sources the registrar has read. Each print names them at the foot of the page: marine life references, dive tables, harbour and weather records, and the notes of divers who work the Kona coast. Where a claim has no source, the print says so.

The date a print was checked

What is known about the Kona coast moves: a species is renamed, a survey is updated, a mooring changes, a season shifts. Each print carries the date it was last checked. A date is a record of when a person last sat with the material and confirmed it, not a promise that the water will behave the same way next year.

Corrections

Errors are corrected by email. Write to contact@sandwichisledivers.com with the print number and the passage in question. The registrar reviews the source, amends the print, and moves the checked date forward. Removal of personal data follows the same route.

Generated images declared as such

Photographs on this wall are generated views, made for the print they hang with, and they are captioned as generated views in the legend. They illustrate a scene described in the print: a reef profile, an animal at its usual depth, a boat at a site. They are not presented as a record of a particular dive.
